I recently had some blood tests done. It appears my lead
content is fourtimes normal. The doc advised me to avoid
anything lead for a month and then have another test.
He finds this unusual he says it never happens nowadays.
Anyone have any relevant experience to share.
( I fear it is another consequence of my favourite hobby.)

If you do a lot of shooting you should have a lead test
at least once every six months. I used to when I lived
in the US and did a lot of shooting, I always had an
elevated lead level but it was half the danger limit.

You can lower it by taking potassium. There was
a case in New York where an instructor dropped
dead on the range from lead poisoning. That's when
I started having tests.

I found switching to CCI ammo also was beneficial
as their bullets are totally jacketed.

Most of the lead that gets into your system comes from
the primer.

Just eat lots of bananas and you will be fine!

Steve.
