By Hugh Dougherty, PA News

A murder inquiry was today launched by police after a
man was shot outside a bar.

The man, who has not been named, died in hospital after
the shooting, outside Morven's Bar in Littlehill Road,
Springburn, Glasgow, around 10.20pm last night.

Today a spokesman for Strathclyde Police said detectives
had already begun a murder inquiry.

"The man was shot outside the bar and sustained serious
injuries. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where
he shortly afterwards succumbed to those injuries," said
the police spokesman.

"Our inquiries are at an early stage."

The spokesman said it was too early to say what the
motive for the shooting was and whether it may be
gang-related.
