Fortunately we don't have a television so we aren't
bombarded with the continual dross that fills the
screens today. So we listen to the radio. A lot.
However on Wednesday 20th September my Ghast was
flabbered. At around 08.30 hrs Radio Four, which over
the last few years has done a very good job of slating
and denigrating shooting and its participants, actually
carried an interview with Richard Faulds. I thought
someone else might have heard it hence the delay
in mentioning it.
The interview must have been about 4 to 6 minutes in
length and Richard had plenty of opportunity to talk about
his sport and the shoot off. The journalist did however
show her ignorance when she asked Richard how old he was
when he first picked up a ........RIFLE.
Richard immediately butted in and corrected her saying
"Shotgun"
"Oh" she giggled. "I'm just showing my ignorance."
She said it. I'm not sure who she was but I think she
is Radio 4s sports correspondent covering the Olympics.
She obviously caught on the hop having been told to
interview Richard. She is probably more accustomed to
the usual sports.
Just thought you'd like to know.
