I was't going to get involved in this debate but.

I support Steve on this. Alex you are way off course.

I am a keen shooter. I was fortunate to be able to travel
to Europe and Switzerland to compete.

I competed in Biathlon both Rifle and Pistol events.

In the summer competed all UIT Pistol Events.

The ranges at most of these events were built on the
side of the tourist courses. providing lots of
spectators.

7 national stadiums and purpose built courses in
Germany. By the Government I might add.

AS we all know Switzerland has a range in every village
and town. depending on the size of the village is the
size of the range. but they are all there. everybody
accepts shooting for what it is.

In the comments book in the NRA office. Is a comment
something like

The noise level caused by the blackpowder shooting on
the New Cheyslesmore Range is totally unacceptable and
can the shooting committee look into this as a matter of
urgency. it was signed by a caravan site owner next to
the range.
For those of you who are not aware of the changes at
Bisley. Cheylesmoor range has been demolished. Rimfire
range has been converted to international standard UIT
Pistol range and is now called new Cheylesmore.

We cannot stick our heads in the sand. we have to get
out and promote all shooting sports when and where we
can, this does mean building more shooting complexes.
We must change the attitude of people not try and hide.
Over the past 2 or 3 years it has become increasingly
obvious that sometimes us shooters are "our own worst
enemies."

the way forward to retrieve target shooting, AS is
quit obvious at present, they are Olympic sports. Lets
promote those and maybe just maybe we will recover pistol
target shooting.

I could go on
