Hello there
Firstly keep up the good work for us out here. As
Chairman of a very large Club called Christchurch I
always pass on your information to my members. Your
latest information I have been warning my members for
some time. No certificate means trouble. As a
Retired Police Officer I know how the minds of Police
work. I am very concerned about my members who live
in Hampshire some have been waiting for their renewal
since June and July. The law states you can only
have firearms if you have a FAC. Technically they
have know legal right to have them as they do not have
a certificate. I have written to the Home Office and
as usual civil servants will not commit themselves. The
code of conduct is strictly adhered by Dorset.
When a first application is submitted upon receipt by
the Licensing Officer they will process it within 14
days either say NO or issue a FAC. Renewals reminders
will be sent out 6 weeks prior to the expiry date and
if returned within 14 days they will take 7 days to
return a FAC. Therefore at no time will your certificate
be out of date. Variations will be dealt with if one
for one in 48 hours. Snippets from CGC keep giving
out info.
