In view of the considerable sometimes hot
air
created on this list, perhaps it could be used for the following recipe:-
Christmas Fruit Cake Recipe
Ingredients
1cup of water 2 cups dried fruit 1 cup sugar
1tsp. salt 4 large eggs 1 tsp. Baking
Powder 10 oz flour
8oz Nuts 1 cup brown sugar Juice of 1 Lemon
! Bottle of Whisky
Method
Find a large bowl, sample whisky to check for quality.
Check whisky again to be sure it is of highest quality by pouring out
one level cup, drink slowly.
Repeat to be absolutely certain of quality.
Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in one or other of the
two blurry bowls.
Add 1 tsp. Of sugar, if you can find it, beat again, use same bowl make sure
whisky is still O.K. Cry another tup.
Turn off fixer.
Break 2 eggs, wipe up the floor, add what you can to the bowl and dried in
the chuck fruit, mix on the turner.
If the fried druit gets stuck on the beaterers, pry loose with a
drewscriver.
Sample whisky to check for tonsiticity.
Get up off knees and sift 2 cups of salt or something---who cares. Check the
remaining ingredients, especially the whisky. Now sift the lemon juice and
strain your nuts.
After sinking to the floor throw the remaining sugar and baking powder up in
the air in the general direction of the bowl/bowls. Climb slowly, (hic), to
your feet.
Grease the oven, turn the cake tin 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the
turner and check that no whisky has been wasted.
Throw the bowl out of the window and happily stagger off to bed vowing to
try again tomorrow.
