At our union AGM today the subject of violence against university staff by
the "animal rights activists" was raised.

It would seem that even though huntingdon life sciences has not been shut
down, the threats that when it had been they would "go after" those who work
for universities that carry out animal experimentation, or OTHER medical
research, has been brought forward and those in the medical teaching section
here have been warned to "be careful".
This however had not been passed onto members in other departments, who as
they work for the same employer, are just as much at risk!
It would seem that the targeting of anyone connected with either a
university or scientific research is being actively carried out. Initially
opportunistic assaults are thought to be the biggest threat, but if your car
carries a parking permit for such a place think about removing it when away
from that place, the anti's live in all areas and are just a phone call away
from the bomb makers...
The modern luddites?
