I recall seeing him on television at the Conservative Party Conference, when
he did his "stunt" of taking off his jacket being asked about a handgun ban.
He replied that the Government was going to wait for Cullen's Report. The
Conference finished on the Sunday, Cullen's Report came out on the Monday.

Major was quoted as saying he wanted handguns banned not long after
the shootings.
