I looked up our (indoor) Range Safety Certificate:
Max calibre: .455
Velocity: 1675 fps
Muzzle Energy: 1496 ft lbs
Just for interest, a 44 magnum with a 240 grain bullet travelling at the max
speed calculates to an ME of 1495 ft lbs. You might want a recoil pad
though!

Okay now I'm confused again, or maybe not as I thought that was the
velocity limit for indoor ranges. But the NRA specifies 2,150 f/s
and that ME level.
I think I'm going to have to check into this!
