Our indoor safety cert states limits of 1426 ft/sec and 645 Joules which is
476 ft lbs

We often have to point out to people especially those with larger calibres
like 44 mag and 45LC
that although their ammunition is well within the velocity limit because of
the heavier bullet weight it is far in excess of the energy limit

So it seems the NRA decided on a gallery rifle specification that
is different from the indoor range safety limit.  Useful to know.
