I repeat, I'm not impressed by the SA's performance on
the internet. I think the internet is important. I
think they could do better. I ask again - what else
are they doing wrong?
You are being very unfair here.
The SA were one of the first organizations to have a WWW site. Before the
likes of BASC, The NRA, The NSRA and The CA even knew what WWW stood for
The SA had a web site up and running. The only other organization I know
who had Internet presence before The SA was The MLAGB.
If you are questioning their competence as a shooting organization there
are others that should be much higher in the priority list to be asked first.
From day one they have run a free and unmoderated bulletin board and used
their WWW page as an information portal rather than a marketing and
propoganda one. For an organization that is only 5 years old I would say
that is a pretty good effort.
From what I can see the domain name sportsmans-association.org is
registered directly with Network Solutions. Sagbni.org has never been used
by them. You have to keep your files somewhere and as most individuals and
small businesses don't run their own servers connected to the Internet that
means renting space from an ISP or similar. The ISP The SA were using
(Easyspace) decided they were not going to continue to host the SA's
content any more. I don't know any more details than that - you will have
to ask The SA for more.
