There is also this quote: "Toute loi qui viole les droits imprescriptable de 
l'homme, est essentiellement injuste et tyrannique; elle n'est point une loi."

"Any law which violates the indefeasible rights of man is essentially unjust 
and tyrannical; it is not a law at all."

Maximilien Robespierre in "Declaration des Droits de l'homme" 24 Apr 1793.

So, in acquitting a defendant accused under such a law the jurors would be 
acting legally, according to Robespierre.
