I feel it is leading into very dangerous waters to link shooting sports of any
kind with talk of self-defence.
If ever it became accepted that we even contemplated using our arms for use on
intruders then, using the "tar 'em all with the same brush" political
sledgehammer technique which lost us semi automatic rifles and pistols, I think
I could safely see an end to another great wedge of shooting disciplines.

Actually I think it works the other way around - most people can relate
to having a gun for self-defence, but your average Joe cannot understand
why someone wants to go out shooting animals or pieces of paper.
