Today I was contacted by a firearms dept of the Met. As a
Secretary of a HO approved club I had completed a members
referee form and answered the section on wether I knew of
any mental ilness drink drugs etc etc by writing none.
The department informed me they will be sending the form
back as one word answers are unacceptable.
Advise
I intend on putting
I have none
I believe they are acting beyond the law the form asks if i
knoe of any problem if I know there isnt one i write none.
They said all met areas would be enforcing this!
This will delay the application by at least a week for now
reason.

This is not the first time I have heard of this, how can you
expand on "none", er, try "I know of none." BASC has had
several of these, I suggest you give them a call on
01244 573010.
The Met has little choice to accept your answer as one of the
references has to come from the secretary of the primary club,
so they have to accept what you say.
Steve.
