Gun laws under review
A review of gun laws in NSW recommends tough new rules to catch
traffickers and an easing of regulations to allow farmers greater access
to firearms.
The review of the laws which were adpoted following the Port Arthur
shootings four years ago also proposes tougher penalties for illegal
possession of firearms and an amnesty for people handing in guns.
"Our first priority is public safety; however, at the same time we
recognise the right of law abiding firearm owners," Police Minister Paul
Whelan said
