Some weeks ago I wrote to Cybershooters concerning Lord Kimball's submission
to the
Home Affairs Committee on Firearms Control. You may remember that I reported
whether his opinion that there was little place for pump action shot guns
was Countryside Alliance policy. I also asked a similar question about his
support for two Certificate counter signatures.

I pondered that as he had described himself IN HIS SUBMISSION AS BEING
VICE-CHAIRMAN of the
Countryside Alliance that perhaps the Alliance ought to re-consider Lord
Kimball's position.

I now read that Lord Kimball's submission to the Hunting with Dogs Inquiry
is reported as recommending the ceasing of houndsports within many areas.
The Countryside Alliance is said to have informed the newspapers that this
was Lord Kimball's personal opinion and not Alliance policy.

Given what he said to the Commons Select Committee and what he is now
described as having written to the Burns Enquiry, is it not now time to
remove him as Vice Chairman of the Alliance so that all may be in no doubt
that when Lord Kimball makes these submissions he does so for himself and
for himself alone and NOT FOR THE ALLIANCE WHOSE MANTLE HE MAY APPEAR TO
SOME TO WEAR WHEN HE COMPOSES HIS LETTERS?

I hope that other Cybershooters might contact the Countryside Alliance at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and ask a similar question.
