From: "bob blake", [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Steve I see that the old question of which 7.62 Military Rifle is best is on the agenda again, we are still shooting military competitions in Jersey and also shoot one make competitions. I own or have owned most of the Rifles in question and would comment as follows: G3A4 Superb (I agree with Steve) M14 while not as reliable as G3/G1 etc the M14 is very accurate and is the choice of most Jersey shooters when shooting 7.62 Military Competitions when gun type is not specified. G1 is by far the best of the FN FAL/L1A1 Series Sig Good with solid stock, spider stock is very uncomfortable, much better in .243cal. AR10 A bit too light to be comfortable, but has good accuracy. Zastava (AK lookalike in 7.62x51) as with anything based on the AK, has superb reliability and would be ideal in battle conditions, but not the ideal competition gun. Keep up the good work Bob Blake -- And of course, the G3 is the only semi-auto 7.62 that cannot be readily made as a straight-pull :< (Unless of course you count the CETME).
