Come on 'Richard Loweth,'there's been so much pressure on the Metropolitan
Police on the anniversary of Miss Dando's murder -and so much money
spent--that the police are desperate. To my mind, it's a case of cherchez the
local weirdo and fit him up--it's expedient.
We all know that if they don't get the gun, which I suspect might have been
home made--and certainly efficienty disposed of on the very day-- their case
doesn't stand a chance in hell.
Why didn't they release the ballistic evidence to people like the experienced
and qualified--such as some cybershooters--if they didn;t have this expedient
in mind from a few months into their futile investigation of Miss Dando's
murder?
The whole investigation stinks. Get real.
Barry Woodward, Lancashire.

My personal view is that they might have the right guy, but at what cost?

Didn't the Home Secretary once tell us that people would only be detained
for extended periods if they were suspected terrorists or serious organised
crime figures?

Steve.
