Police chief's granddaughter gunned down The granddaughter of Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks was murdered in a restaurant car park by gunman who was aiming for her friend. Lori Gonzalez, 20, was shot several times by a man who walked up and opened fire near Popeye's fast food outlet in south Los Angeles, said police Lieutenant Horace Frank. The attacker apparently was aiming for Gonzalez's passenger, who was a 20-year-old friend. He was not struck by bullets. "He ducked and he was not injured," said Officer Jason Lee. Gonzalez is the daughter of one of Parks' three daughters, Felicia, Lee said.
