The Ride of Silence was brought up as a great way to get this message out to the public. I had suggested that the COWs (don't worry, there were at least 4 COW members there) set it up since they already had a route and new the people to contact. Angie Harold who is an officer with Wilson PD (downtown bicycle officer) was there and is going to try to have some other bicycle officers ride with us and have a bike registration/safety presentation at the start/end of the ride route. She is checking with her Lt. for more info on it. Don (Don's Bike Shop) is going to talk with the Wilson Daily Times to get an article on bike/helmet safety and registration. Kim is going to work on getting some banners to put up near the high schools in the area. This is another great idea and will let Kim cover that item in more detail. The ride is set for May 20 at 7:00 p.m. Check out www.rideofsilence.org for more information on what's going on around the country. There is also a section at the site to put Wilson and the COWs on to let others know we are having the ride! I'll try to get that updated today. Soooo....here are a few questions: Does anyone have the route we used last year? Who was contacted at the PD?
