Not to worry Mike.I am not an advocate for letting the dogs run free to chase us as they see fit.I was merely passing on method that worked for me while taking on a hill into a 15 to 20 mph gust slowing me to 16 mph on the bike.At that pace the animal could have latched on and taken a ride if the boot had missed.

Nice try. The peloton of 12 riders was at 23 mph when the dog came out. Seems like a sharp crisp YO beats the peloton racing the dog at one end and slowing like silly scared people at the other end. The dog certainly enjoys these antics. YO works. The same dog came onto the road 3 times. Gabe did jack the pace up to 27 mph which is his normal stunt after seeing a dog. The peloton quickly covered that attack because nobody slowed down for the dog. YO. I prefer YO over your dangerous approach. My new bike saw the pavement as your stunt was used a few weeks ago. A nice hard crisp YO would have stopped that dog. Good news because the small scab came off from that incident with the dog. YO works. Scabs stink. YO. You are correct at about the boot. There is a leash law to prohibit the dog from hurting cyclists and walkers. I should have slowed down, walked over calmly to the chasing dog, let the lady attach the leash and/or called the officials at the town office so I feel good about my tax dollars at work. Note, the dog quickly raced went back into the leash. Pet owners should take the time and effort to train their animal. The geese respect my YO so I will continue to use it. I prefer YO over your dangerous approach. YO.
