Thanks for your help. I think I may just go without this time. My swimming isn't very fast. And I just hope to complete this one.Once I'm out of the water I think I'll be fine the rest of the way..

Kerr lake is much bigger then buckhorn so the water out there should warm up faster then kerr. there were a good number without suits at kerr, but KP is right, like her I feel faster in a suit but you do need to try it before race day. if you can not try if before race time then I would not recommend using one. Water temps have to be below 78 deg to be wetsuit legal. I love swimming in a wetsuit; I'm much faster. Some people hate swimming in a wetsuit; feels restrictive. If you rent one and you've never worn one before, give it a test run the day before (atleast) if possible. There is a scuba shop on Hwy 301 in Rcky Mnt that rents wetsuits. InsideOut in Cary also rents. I'd call and price both. InsideOut will have swim/tri specific suits.
