Goose,
For the BSG I got a SRAM 12/32, ($30) works fine on my 9 speed Ultegra,
Check with Don about the same, would be a good short term fix for the BSG.

Subject: [COWs] Dura Ace upgrade

I need to get a new cassette for the BSG ride, and I'm thinking about slowly
making an upgrade to my whole drive train. I currently have the low end Sora
components. Unfortunately, with the impending move to dallas, I cant shell out
between 1000-1400 bucks right now for a full drivetrain upgrade. Does it make
sense to upgrade one component at a time. In this case I think I will need to
upgrade the cassette and the deraiuler at the same time.

Also, does any one have any arguments for getting SRAM or another brand of
components?

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly
because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have
acted rightly.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
