These 200K's are going down as easy as the recovery drinks. Well maybe
not, but this is the 23rd day this year so far that I've cycled a 200K or
better. I left out with 7 others this morning in Durham and we cycled from
there to Sanford and on to Carthage then returned to Durham. The group stayed
pretty much together going down. A nice morning with little wind. On the
return we split up into 2 groups. I road up front with Geof, Lynn and Ian,
when I was able to keep up. We stopped at the Dairy Bar in Sanford on the way
back for lunch. Oh yea, that included milk shakes. It was mid 90's from there
in and whenever we stopped we started melting into the asphalt. The last stop
at mile 101, had a beer cave, and Geof and I spent a couple minutes inside
bringing the temps down. The last 24 miles were in "get it done" mode! Spent
some time at the finish with my pals with some iced coffee drinks. Drove home,
My wonderful wife had an equally wonderful dinner waiting, recovery drinks, and
it doesn't get any better than that! Yoo-hoo!
