I must strongly refute the doping charges leveled by Tim. I have never tested positive for any banned substance.
As DC noted pre-ride, he did not hammer MUCH today. Once on Bridgersville, he did accelerate, but it was well under 30 mph. My “strong pulls” were strategically timed...downhill on Langley and a reduced speed segment while we regrouped on Bridgersville. It felt good not to be dropped by Tim (was this his goal???), but we did not maintain this ride’s typical NASCAR pace. One way or the other, this felt like a bonus ride based on the rain earlier in the day. I agree...Great ride!! DC, Wally, Dale, bob and I cruise out from Wilson, to Elm City, Town Creek back to Wilson for 28 miles for me anyway leaving from Checkers. 30 miles for others. Dale started us out at 20 mph and that is what we maintained throughout the ride. A few sections at 22 to 23 keeping our average above 20. It felt like 3/4's of this ride was headwind. I don't think we ever got a tailwind. DC was human today. Strong pulls but I didn't collapse a lung trying to hang on this time. And bob was the man today, strong pulls today and I couldn't drop him. Doping obviously! I think Wally is losing weight. If that's so we're all in trouble. Another awesome day on the playground.
