Bob, Nick, Doc, Kaiser and I cruised up 58 to Bend of the River. Strong
pulls all around into 25+ mph wind gust. Relentless, no mercy on Bend of the
River either. Doc gets us up the hill leaving the reservoir. Back 97 Bob sets
the pace for the rest of the ride cruising along at 25. Around the airport
Kaiser turns the screw just a tad more. Into Elm City I'm just trying to save
face. A little break as we tip toe around some construction then Nick hurls us
towards home. Kaiser does the BIG lead out (again) on Lake Wilson, then Nick
pushes me up the last hill to finish off another great ride. We worked
extremely hard fighting the wind on the way out so we could work just as hard
on the tailwind section coming back. One day I'll understand that concept,
though it's usually more fun in the BIG chain ring! 28 miles at almost a 20mph
average. For those that rode yesterday, the wind today was even better!
