I usually simply install a basic Cygwin before adding the cygwinports packages. As I understand it you should follow the installation steps on the cygwinports site to resolve conflicts in packages that are in cygwin too, but with a different version. The packages needed to get a simple Cygwin installation have no conflicts with the cygwinports packages, so it's safe to install them first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
