Hi Elfi;

  Thanks for the explanation, which is what I had already concluded anyway
:-)

  Anyone want to help me take the next step to have a fresh full install of
Cygwin with Cygwin Ports? :-)

  I'm not sure I can port the cygpath functionality into GnuWin32 supported
commands as I really don't know what cygpath does well enough.

  It would be nice to have :-)

  What I would REALLY like to have is a script that would do one of two
things:
  1. get a FULL cygwin and FULL cygwin_ports without a cygwin bootstrap and
without this mixture of cygwin-setup.exe and command line fiddling (I'd
rather just a script rather than an exe);
  2. get a FULL update cygwin and FULL update cygwin_ports without this
mixture of cygwin-setup.exe and command line fiddling (I'd rather just a
script rather than an exe);

  That would be really nice to have :-)

Thanks,
Ken Wolcott
