>From where do you try to start an xterm, an command shell from outside >xfree, or an xterm from the inside?? > >Does the xterm fire up when you run the startxwin.bat? I can't get an xterm started. It doesn't launch from the startxwin.bat. I also tried doing it manually at the command shell, but it gives an error that it can't connect to the display. >What kind of networking do you have installed? Only pcmcia card, or >dial up modem also (might be that tcpip is shutdown when >disconnected). I've got a pcmcia card (Xircom), and I've also tried dialup. Tcpip seems to work in that I can ping 127.0.0.1 and my actual IP address. I tried: SET DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0 and that didn't help either (I also tried setting it to the actual IP address). - Tom [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------ --== Sent via Deja.com ==-- http://www.deja.com/
