FTR, this command finally did the trick: #> setup-2.928.x86_64.exe --no-version-check --no-verify --allow-unsupported- windows --site http://ctm.crouchingtigerhiddenfruitbat.org/pub/cygwin/circa/ 64bit/2024/01/30/231215 and it installed Base, openssh and rsync flawlessly. Yay. Ha, vi on Windows, Cygwin rocks! This is so cool. Will make the silly environment more useful then ever. Sorry for the noobisms from my side. You made my day, Jon!
