The closer Congress gets to investigating the failure of
all levels of government -- and its army of national security
and counterterrorism consultants -- to prevent 9/11 the more
we see alarms being rung about terrible threats kept quiet
and imminent threats of disasters sure to come.

None of these officials, classified consultants and oversight
committtes are to be believed. What has changed since
9/11 is that the citizenry must take the domestic security
load upon themselves, beginning with discounting the
legacy sources of intelligence about the threats. The
past masters have demonstrated they knew squat about
the domestic threat, so enthralled they were with world
affairs, and that grand conceit is now leading national
security practitioners in the US and among its allies to
treat their homelands as if indistinguishable from foreign
enemies. They know not what else to do.

Best to lock the the frightened sonsabitches in secure
bunkers for the duration, keep them oiled with the customary
cognac of war game delirium. But do not rely on their
prognostications and promises of protection, or another
9/11 is sure to come, if not by them then from those who
believe what they believe about who should run the
world.

It is now clear the Russians are now in on the deceit and
panic-mongering. And why not, for two generations they
colluded with the USA to keep the world terrified, and those
habits will not go away until the die-hards are dead.
