My grandmother Cipre Katz (dob 11/28/1895), emigrated 1923 and her sister Pepic (dob 3/26/1892) emigrated 1910 were born in Bukowina in a small town that is now called Chudey Ukraine which is very close to Czernowitz. Celia also spent a little time in Czernowitz on her way to USA. I have their Ellis island info.
Their parents were Solomon Katz and Rose Fuchs. I can’t locate any info on the Katz’s or Fuchs in either Bukowina or Galicia. I looked on both the Romanian and Ukraine Jewgen databases. I did locate info on Solomon’s brother Eisig and his wife Schoendle Leder on JRI-Poland because their name came up in what is now Kosiv Ukraine which was once part of Poland. I know they had 4 children, 3 of whom emigrated to USA. I do have lots of info once they immigrated but not any European info.
