Dear Leah,

Thank you so much for your kind words. No, I did not add the music and did not
change anything else in the film, but left it as I found it in my late father's
archive. I understood the passages in German and Yiddish, but, since I
unfortunately do not speak Russian, I was also overwhelmed with the commentary.
I think the commentary is by Czernowitz filmmaker Boris Dratva, the great film
chronicler of "our" city, who has a remarkable YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqOHlwxRtpw598xsdce7pnA

It's worth a look, even if - like me - you don't know Russian!

Edgar,

Thank you for sharing this trip to the Czernowitz cemetery. Even though I
could not understand the commentary, I enjoyed the visuals. Did you add in the
music that accompanied it Very haunting, but lovely. I appreciate the many
things you pass along to this group!

Do you feel like attending a deferred film premiere after almost three decades?
From the depths of the archives of my late father Julius Hauster, who passed

Czernowitzers...

It is our friend Daniel Katz who brought the project "The Nazi Collaborator
Monument Project • Nazi Collaborator Monuments in Romania" to my attention and
it is Daniel who unswervingly represents our interests in front of the Romanian
authorities.

In this context I have posted the latest publications of FORWARD and
www.info-sud-est.ro at our Ehpes blog:

http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=11080

Here you'll find for download the verdicts against the main war criminals, to
take the wind out of the sails of the numerous Holocaust deniers in Romania.
These insult us as anti-Romanians, while the war criminals are stylized as
heroes of the Iron Guard. Let's contribute everything to erase the the names of
the war criminals from the streetscape in Romania and elsewhere!

Hi Bruce,
Though my grandmother's monument in the Jewish cemetery of Galati Romania
existed, it was in a horrible shape and I reconstructed it by hiring a local
constructor who did the job in a few days. My grandmother died in 1947.
