Great news, wonderful work!

I'd like to share some relative background regarding the role of Jewish
Siret community in Bukovina.

The Jewish communities of Czernowitz and Suceava were declared as
independent ones back on 1786. Sadagura and Wiznitz were subordinated to
Czernowitz, while Siret and Kimpolung were subordinated to Suceava. Smaller
Jewish communities were further subordinated to these ones. As an example,
Radautz was subordinated to Siret.

As the years passed, more and more Jewish communities were declared as
independent, having their own leadership and institutes. As an example,
Radautz got independence in the 1850s, having the Wikow, Petroutz, Straja,
Bilka, Galantestie, Milleschaoutz etc. as subordinated Jewish communities.

1990, Hebrew)

These facts have significant importance on the following aspects:

1. Vital records of subordinated communities are likely to be included in
the parent community ones. For example, earliest vital records relating to
the Jewish community of Radautz are dated to 1857. Prior records may be
found in the Siret ones, if and when found.

2. Subordinated communities not having a Jewish cemetery on site might use
the cemetery of their parent community. As an example, the Jewish cemetery
of Radautz was established in 1831. The chances the prior burials may be
found in Siret are quite high.
