Bigger, longer things, people need to hack on their own branch, and periodically merge the current trunk over to the branch. When they are ready to merge the branch into trunk, they should ask Ed and I to test it and give our thumbs up. They can even ask one of us to do the actual merge if that is more comfortable. Quick things, obvious things, or short things (IOW, easily reviewed) can just go directly to the trunk. This is how Ed and I have been working for almost 3 years.
