After a good nights sleep (interrupted by the power going out causing
the CO detector alarm to go off, and by insane cats), I recalled
something about MysqlDB, so went back and read the install page again,
and spotted the missing MySQLdb that I was supposed to have gotten, got
it, and installed it.

(BTW - has anyone gotten the PostGreSQL to work on Windows? I grabbed
that as well, got as far as unzipping the tar.gz, and was stumped - and
their web site is down)

Tried it again, just adding a single sizer and tried to add controls
form database -- success!
Ok, now to add a few more sizers....check.... and edit the sizer....
nothing. WTF? No edit sizer.
Abandoned that version (it was the ZIP install files from the download
page) and went to the bleeding edge svn version.

Slower than mud, everything crawled, but.... success! Made it all the
way through both screencast demos, albeit painfully slowly.

So... finally, I'm on the Dabo Autobahn, crawling along in my wheezing,
sputtering, shaking Model T, looking wistfully at the others zooming
past in their gleaming chrome-plated fish-finned space-aged 57 Chevy's.
But, it's a start.

So boys and girls, the lesson is clear: If at first you don't succeed,
wait 6 months or more until people with more time, brains, and patience
than you have get more of the bugs squashed, and then... uhm... no....
sorry.... wrong lesson. "Perseverance pays." Yeah, that's it.
