If you did the python setup.py install step as root you should do the update as root too. Look at the owner and permission attributes of the dabo files. You can place the dabo directory anywhere under your $HOME and create a symlink under yourpython/site-packages. This is what i do: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages> ls -l dabo lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2007-11-19 15:28 dabo -> /home/uwe/src/dabo/dabo/ Of cause the files under /home/uwe/src/dabo/dabo/ are owned by user uwe group users.
