I have now updated dabo to revision 4571 (as per earlier post) via
subversion and wxPython/wxwidgets to 2.8.9.1 as described on wxPyWiki
(There didn't seem to be errors)
unfortunately when I try to run any dabo programs I get

Your wxPython installation was not built correctly. Please make sure that
the following required libraries have been built:
wx
wx.stc
wx.lib.foldpanelbar

wx.lib.buttons
I am missing a step somewhere ?
