        That's odd - it certainly should have installed it correctly. Maybe  
you have multiple versions of Python on your machine, and it was  
installed in an older version? Just grasping at straws here.

        I'd recommend using apt to remove and then re-install. You should be  
able to type "import wx" from a Python session when it is installed  
correctly.
