No. I was using a MS Word interface. They are letters to clients and had
fill-in fields from the data. I used Word back then because I needed the
letters to have a professional look and a simple means for the client to edit
the letter tempIate. I have considered using OpenOffice just as I did with
Word (and got it running). But two issues appeared. 1. I had trouble with
cross platform (Linux and Windows). 2. The client staff did not like the
idea of using OpenOffice (at least there was some resistance).

The first issue was due to OpenOffice using python 2.3 on Windows. I could
get around the problem by using an OpenOffice server (on a linux box). But
the second looks like a tuff nut to crack. So now I'm considering using
reportWriter.

If I can determine a simple way for the staff to edit the templates and still
use reportWriter it would be the best of both worlds.
