Generally, I've found that in order to get dbapi adapters to build on
OS X, you need to have the developer libraries for that database
installed. You also sometimes have to tweak the makefiles to reflect
the location on OS X, since this usually differs from the standard
Linux locations (although macports sometimes handles that for you). It
took me several attempts to get MySQLdb to finally compile, and I gave
up after a while trying to get psycopg to build.
