 A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Our personal mission, our real purpose in life, is to do the work of
Christ now, in our present surroundings and it is a very exciting
moment no matter what your call in life. Whether you are a parent, a
business person, a teacher or a laborer, male or female, as long as
you take the Gospel message make it your own and act upon it, you
will be doing Christ's work.

The apostles observed Jesus as He performed miracles, healed the sick
and explained the Word of God and told them about the will of His
Father. We are fortunate because we have been baptized in Christ and
taught our religion. We have all the history of our church, our
learned theologians, and our parish priests who preach the word of
God. We have a clear understanding of the way we can give of
ourselves, as did the Apostles. We have Jesus Himself, right on the
Altar in the Eucharist.

His grace will enable us to accomplish our mission by relying on and
depending on God with expectant faith awaiting His word or action,
instead of going at it "on our own"! We have the inspiration of the
Holy Spirit. We need to act. We don't need any "baggage" to take with
us, just the knowledge of He Who walks with us!

     Come Holy Spirit,
     open our minds and hearts,
to know what Jesus wants us to accomplish
     on our mission.
     Amen!
