A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect....
Our lives are many times full of trials, difficulties, and sorrows.
At times it can feel as if we can simply not endure anymore. Things
can feel hopeless and we can feel we are on the brink of despair. But
what we must remember is that God will never give us more than we can
handle. He is always with us, and loves us more than we can
comprehend. Our trials and difficulties help strengthen us, and
purify us. They prepare us to take our place, which is already
reserved for us in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The challenge for us in our daily lives is to maintain this vision
and perspective when things get tough. We need to work on our
willingness to abandon ourselves completely to God, to place
ourselves always in His loving arms, and to ask Him to protect us and
watch over us. Through our loving acceptance of earthly suffering we
hope to persevere and to gain the most prized possession of all: the
blessed vision of Heaven itself.
