A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

How sad it is that when tragedy comes our way, how quickly we cry out
to God! When our lives are running smoothly and everything is
wonderful, the GIVER of all gifts often seems to be put on the "back
burner"!

Our gracious and patient God speaks to us today through the prophet
of old, begging us to listen to His voice, that we might learn to be
His people and that He would be our God. How much clearer can He be?
This is not a catchy phrase, but a plea to give God our time in
prayer so that we might hear his voice speaking to our heart. What
better time than NOW, during this holy season of Lent, to look within
ourselves to see where we might grow in our relationship with God.

The psalmist too, clearly tells us that in good times and in bad, we
should always sing joyfully to the Lord, greeting Him with
thanksgiving and singing psalms of praise to Him. For one thing never
changes: God is ALWAYS with us, not just when we come begging in our
time of need.

Jesus teaches us in the Gospel today: The man who is not with me, is
against me. Let us learn to pray for the unity of all people, that
one day we might all raise our arms in praise of Jesus, the Christ!

          Come, O Triune God
               Giver of all good gifts;
Allow us to be your people
                    of praise and thanksgiving. Amen.
