Jesus Christ, Son of God, God Himself, took on our humanity to atone for our sins. "What greater Love than this..."? Who among us can fathom such Mercy? How can any one of us ever again indulge ourselves in pride in light of His perfect Humility? Likewise, who among us can fathom, Mary? Mother of God, Mother of Mercy, the humble handmaid of the Lord, the Virgin most pure, the first to believe - the first to love Him. Mary, the Woman promised in Genesis and then prefigured, as was her Son, throughout the Old Testament. The Woman given to us as our Mother by Jesus Himself from the Cross. Our Mother present with us at Pentecost. Mary, the Mother of God, our Mother, present with Our Lord from the womb, the tomb, and forever with us as she was in that upper room. The Annunciation, Mary's 'yes', and then, the Incarnation. The words of Consecration, our 'amen', and Our Lord dwells in and with us. "As soon as man receives into his heart the full meaning of the Annunciation and the full light of the Incarnation, two self-evident truths arise upon his reason: the one, the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament; the other, the love and veneration of His Blessed Mother."
