A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

It is interesting to read in Acts 16 about Paul and the disciple
Timothy travelling from area to area, region to region, spreading the
word of Jesus. The specific detail that struck me in this reading, is
that it mentions how they were prevented from entering Asia and
Bithynia by the Holy Spirit; and after Paul had a vision, he
concluded that God wanted them to go to Macedonia.

What is so fascinating about this fact is that many times in our
lives we find that certain "doors" of our life close, some even
slammed shut. Sometimes we wonder why. Sometimes we even become angry
or resentful because things did not work out the way we wanted them
to, or thought they should.

What we can learn from this reading is that we never really know what
God wants from us or has in store for us. We must always move forward
in our lives with a spirit of trust and abandonment. We must pray to
know God's will and pray that we can accept it with love, patience,
and perseverance. God loves us more than we can ever know, and we
must work and learn to accept with love all that He asks from us.
