A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

First, be reconciled with your brother. (see Matthew 5:24)

Did you ever wonder about how you would feel if you knew the timing
of your death? What would you do on that last day of your life? Would
you eat that forbidden meal so laden with calories because it did not
matter anymore? Would you pray begging the Lord for mercy for all
those times you turned away from Him? Maybe you would go and ask
forgiveness of someone you had hurt with your words. Could it be that
you might need to be forgiven?

Why is it that we are procrastinators? Why do we put off until
tomorrow what we can do today? Our lives are so short, why not take
advantage of the moment to say, "I'm sorry, please forgive me", or "I
forgive you". Release someone who is held in bondage by your lack of
forgiveness.

     Spirit of the living God,
          release me from the bondage of unforgiveness;
          give me the grace to love as You do,
          and be a person with a merciful heart. Amen!
