A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Have your family or friends ever misunderstood your hunger for God?
In today's Gospel St. Luke points out to us the anxiety that Mary and
Joseph went through when they found that Jesus their son was missing
after being on the road for a day. God's will can be very different
for each of us. First, we need to open our hearts and minds to
respond to His call; second we need to witness and be blessed by the
living presence of Christ in others.

>From where I write today, I can look out into the woods by my home
and see endless beauty in the shapes of the leaves on each tree --
all so different, yet still leaves. The smell, the sounds, the view,
all seem to be just basic things; but looking deeper into it all, my
soul becomes overwhelmed by more than I can comprehend. Just as Mary
pondered things deep in her heart, we too must take time to ponder
the wonder and mysteries of the mighty and living God in our midst.
