A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
When a soul begins to want to please its Creator, it often searches
for all kinds of innovative ways to show its love. As unique as our
personalities, are the prayers and good works we might offer to Him.
In time, we usually come to realize the pitiful smallness of our
efforts in comparison to the great love that He has poured out on us.
The words of scripture, "what is mortal man that you should care for
him", quickly come to mind.
Faced with this terrible disparity, what are we to do? We find the
answer in the inspired words of the psalmist: "Offer to God praise as
your sacrifice and fulfill your vows to the Most High."
Let us praise Him with every breath, with every glance, for every
sensible smell, sight, sound and touch. Use the body and mind God
gave you, to praise Him! Surely then, we may confidently call on Him
in time of distress and He will rescue us.
Offer to God a sacrifice of praise!
