A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Today is a good day for housecleaning. By that I mean spiritual
housecleaning. Today's Gospel shows Jesus' followers marvelling at
his success in cleaning out the unclean and expelling the demons that
imprisoned so many in Israel.

What demons keep me from free and unfettered living for the Lord? Is
it some addiction that I just won't face? Is it an attachment to some
person or some thing that keeps me from giving my heart totally to
Jesus who so longs to be my Lover? Then beseech the Lord in earnest
prayer to remove it from your person -- and be prepared to take the
steps that will form a habit of detachment so that God can be all in
all, and you will know a lightness of heart and a joy of spirit you
have never known, or may have known in your past, but have lost.
